Over the past 11 years, over 2,500 acres of high quality habitat have been protected within the Cannon River Watershed.
Protection and restoration of natural areas in Southeast Minnesota has been a team effort. With funding from the Outdoor Heritage Fund, we’ve been able to collaborate with groups like the Trust for Public Land, Great River Greening, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to scale up conservation and involve landowners in the process.
Moving into 2023, Clean River Partners will continue to host events that share conservation opportunities available to local landowners and increase the public’s knowledge of new and improved habitats that are available to all for hunting, fishing, birding, hiking, and more.
Our habitat protection work was recently featured in the local news. Read on to learn more about how it all happens.
