Tabling (11:00 am -2:30 pm)
Swing by the Clean River Partners booth to learn more about our work, hear about upcoming events, and participate in a mural activity led by local artist Rocky Casillas Aguirre!
Rocky Casillas Aguirre
Rocky is a MN-based Latino and Queer artist. He works out of his small studio Rokaturas creating comics and children’s books focused on mindfulness and mental health. As a freelance artist, he has partnered with numerous local nonprofits and businesses to advocate for social and environmental justice. His colorful art can be seen across downtown Northfield decorating the sidewalks, library bookshelves, street posts and buildings - like Mercado Local, and even the city’s 2045 Comprehensive Plan.
Rain Barrel Workshop (1:00-2:00 pm)
Learn about the benefits of rain barrels at our FREE workshop during Northfield Earth Day! In this workshop, we will discuss stormwater health and how rain barrels can be used to harvest rainwater. We will also have a step–by–step demonstration on how to construct and install a rain barrel, as well as rain barrel maintenance tips. At the end of the workshop, we will draw a name and give away the constructed rain barrel to one lucky participant! We hope you can join us to learn more about this cost-effective way to reduce stormwater runoff!
We aim to host inclusive and accessible events that allow all individuals to participate. If you anticipate needing an accommodation or have questions about accessibility, please contact Sophie Epps at sophie@cleanriverpartners.org.
*Registration is only required for the Rain Barrel Workshop
